He seemed pretty sincere when I spoke with him though.

Same. [Rubbing the bridge of his nose more.] Not to mention when he put himself in the line of fire, it was an instinctive thing. Never got the impression he was acting once the whole time.

But he plays a role exceptionally well. He and I were on the same mission, just a little while ago. One of the key requirements wan an ability to convincingly lie. He was good.

So, I don't know. I've never met a guy where it's been so hard to get a decent read off of so far.

I'm just hoping that I can avoid some psycho-hissy fit by giving a warning this time. Even if he is lying, another stunt like that and both sides will have to keep away.

I'd say that's fair given everything. [It wouldn't be popular with that lot, but hitting everyone with a ban would keep hissy fits with certain gods down.]

If not now, then she will when she's older. It might take time, but she'll eventually come around.

That's good. The sooner she begins to recognize that some people have ulterior motives other than friendliness and can pick them out, the better.

I'm... making everyone promise that they'll stay away from Elicia if they ever end up knowingly put her in danger like he did. Some people think I can't pull it off or that I'm some kind of idiot who doesn't understand how this place works.

You're not an idiot... and frankly, it's the fairest thing that can be done. It's not like you're saying regardless of the circumstances behind any incident, if anything happens the person is barred.

I do see the point about enforcement, and if Ed's not enough, I'm willing to step in.

If it gets to that point, though... [He spreads his hands.] it's gone much farther than just someone throwing a tantrum or being stubborn.
