Four. Four birthdays in Luceti. Honestly none of them have ever been very exciting, but maybe it's better that way. Calling attention to age, especially now that she's 20, is a little of a scary thought. Instead she'll act like it's a normal day for most of it. Taking her dog for a walk in the late morning, spending time in the smithy, and even grocery shopping a bit. Eventually sometime in the afternoon, before dinner, she'll ask the village a question:]

A question for everyone: How do you feel about growing older here? Whether you already have or not. Is it scary to think about?
[Families? Relationships? Are they even a good idea? Despite the fact those are things she wants.]

You know... I don't think it's about being "human." I think it's about being... "a good person." I've known a bunch of non-humans that were better people than some humans.

Take a hike! Have a picnic! Go ice skating! There's no shortage of things to do. Learn a skill, or pick up a hobby!

Mostly. The big thing is that after showers and stuff you have to dry it thoroughly so it doesn't rust.

Usually only farmers can afford to have that many children... you know, to help them on the farm?

Yeah, just a little bit. Here I almost have to act as her mother... which is kind of difficult.

All of which sound pretty sad to do alone. Especially the picnic.

More importantly, if there's no shortage of things to do, then why were you having such a hard time finding out what your project to take your mind off your bad idea was? Guess you should just pick up one of those things, huh?

That's one of the things Luceti has helped me realize-- it doesn't matter what you are as long as you're a good person, like you said. And... Richter wasn't human, but that never mattered to me either. It wouldn't have changed anything.

A lot of people in your world must need those. [For someone Winry's age to be so good at making them, right?]

I just try to take things as they come. Spend as much time with the people that matter, that way I have plenty of memories to hold onto if they do leave.

It probably doesn't sound like much, and I'm sure it doesn't work for everybody. Heck, there's bound to be others here who handle it better than me.
