[Hold that thought...] Got another room we can pop into, if you don't mind?

[It's not as shifty as it may seem, honest.]

Sounds good. [He mutely invites her to lead the way.]

[Action, Nov.12] (Oooh, thanks for the visual!)

Just fine. [It's an organized place; very nice. He sits his ass down at one of the work benches surrounding the furnace and gives her the low-down on his technology.]

My bionic arm's military tech. So it serves the same purpose as any other prosthetic, but it was also built to double as a grappling hook.

[With no conscious thought involved, his left hand smoothly transforms, the thumb folding back and each of the fingers manipulating into a hook-like shape. He raises his arm but does not fire out his hand in a demonstration as not to damage the ceiling when the prongs pierce it.] You get the idea.

It's powered by a hydrogen micro-fuel cell that lasts a good long while; never had it run out on me while on my mission. ...And, finally, it unplugs right at the socket and between the shoulderblades. [He turns to offer her a better glimpse of the thick cable that enters his back.] Just about as fun as pulling a couple of teeth.

[Re-attaching the arm was similarly uncomfortable, in understatement.]

[Oh. He wasn't expecting the enthused, fascinated look - and it's at this point when he registers how young she seems for an expert. If he had to guess, he'd say she's 18, 19. Is he warm?]

It does - hooks right up to my central nervous system.

[So he was told, anyway, but he can't imagine why else he'd have a port installed in his back.]

Haven't had this arm fully functional for very long, to be honest. Back home, there were engineers I could go to to sort out kinks, but I haven't run into trouble with it while on the battlefield.

[Imagine all the soldiers who could have a new lease on life with prostheses just like this one.]

[Action, Nov.12] Thank you very much, canon, for not giving us much in the way of info! /fistshake

[Only five years younger than him! At his palm is a circular red light indicating the fuel cell was running strong.]

A month or two short of a couple years, I'd say, but it was on and off. The engineers would have me run through a few virtual obstacle courses and then they'd tweak a few things and fit me with something a little less fancy in the meantime. If I lost my forearm, I'm thinking the wire that lets me fire my hand out would be severed.

[He isn't certain as to whether it would be painful or not, however, knowing he is able to drop from just about any height, land arm-first, and not feel more than a buzz through his shoulder and chest. It helped that his body was reinforced to absorb the shock and endure physical stress better than he otherwise could, though. Or he'd have broken quite a few bones by now. :/]

Great.

[He nods, gently drawing his arm back - and despite his lineface, he is indeed quite grateful to have multiple people he can turn to when shit hits the fan.]

Thanks for having a look, Miss Rockbell. We'll play it by ear. [He extends his real arm her way, intending for a brief, comfortably firm handshake.] The name's Nathan Spencer.

Likewise. [Have a little grin.] Alright, it's time I let you get back to business.
