Four. Four birthdays in Luceti. Honestly none of them have ever been very exciting, but maybe it's better that way. Calling attention to age, especially now that she's 20, is a little of a scary thought. Instead she'll act like it's a normal day for most of it. Taking her dog for a walk in the late morning, spending time in the smithy, and even grocery shopping a bit. Eventually sometime in the afternoon, before dinner, she'll ask the village a question:]

A question for everyone: How do you feel about growing older here? Whether you already have or not. Is it scary to think about?
[Families? Relationships? Are they even a good idea? Despite the fact those are things she wants.]

[Winry stares for a moment. This... isn't something she was expecting. Her eyes fall on the defective party horn as is recoils back to Sokka's face. It's quiet for a moment before she starts laughing.]

You remembered?

[Sokka blew it a second time for a similar result. He plucked it from his lips, gave it a condemning look, then tossed it aside. He brightened up again.]

Of course. It's a very easy date to remember. It was my second day in Luceti. Of course, I've also got it in my yearly planner.

[Sokka lovingly patted the egregiously large notebook resting on the counter.]

Wasn't it also the first day we met?

Three years ago today. Hard to believe, isn't it?

[Winry immediately grabs the skin of his cheek.]

Ow! Ow! Hey, stop that! [He pulls his cheek away and rubs the offended area.]

I didn't pinch that hard.

They're tender. Yeesh. Now I'm regretting even getting you a present.

[She smiles and nudges him.]

Oh, come on. What did you get me?

Well, I didn't make anything! But only because I'm saving that for later. But what I did get isn't too bad either. I saw it in the store and I figured you'd like it. At least, it made me think of you.

[Under the counter is a box. An entirely unwrapped box. But it has a stick-on bow at least. He holds it out for her.

Inside is an action figure of all things. Pretty silly. But it looked like her when she was a warrior princess. Underneath it is some more practical gifts. A new scarf and a pair of mittens.]

[She looks at the figure with a mixture of surprise and bewilderment. Winry picks it up and holds it out to him.]

Are you serious?

It's you! I mean, it's Winry. Warrior Princess.

[She drops it back into the box.]

This is real flattering, thanks.

[A shrug.] I couldn't find a matching Thunderaxe.

Maybe I should make one.

Yeah, so you can put it on your nightstand and have it watch you as you sleep.
