Four. Four birthdays in Luceti. Honestly none of them have ever been very exciting, but maybe it's better that way. Calling attention to age, especially now that she's 20, is a little of a scary thought. Instead she'll act like it's a normal day for most of it. Taking her dog for a walk in the late morning, spending time in the smithy, and even grocery shopping a bit. Eventually sometime in the afternoon, before dinner, she'll ask the village a question:]

A question for everyone: How do you feel about growing older here? Whether you already have or not. Is it scary to think about?
[Families? Relationships? Are they even a good idea? Despite the fact those are things she wants.]

Like... what if someone was here long enough that the missed their chance to have a family?

I have multiple theories on the matter... One is that time doesn't pass while we're in this world in our own worlds...

Was there someone you were thinking of starting a family with specifically in your world? Or was that not what you meant?

Not what I meant. I know everything goes back to normal when you go home, but if someone is spending enough time here to grow into an adult isn't it a waste to do nothing?

To do nothing? Nothing with what? Your adulthood?

Yeah. I mean some people have been here for over four years, right? What's to say they won't be around for another four?

[Voice]

[ilyana]

Nothing I suppose. I think if you're worried about starting a family here, because you're worried you may leave those that you love behind, then you're simply missing out. What's to say that you or I will be alive tomorrow even if we do go home? I think wherever you are, you should always live your life the way you want to, and not let the situations completely dictate the way you live it. So if you have a family here, cherish it just as much as you would cherish a family back home. Or don't let yourself be caught up on the idea that either one of you could disappear at any moment, or you'll just regret it when you don't.

... That... might not have been what you were referring to either... but I feel the point still stands.

That's not all, though. There were a few messages in the tunnels saying how it's a bad idea.

[Especially if you intend to have babies.]

Really? I seem to remember there at least being one couple in Luceti that has a kid... I think... I think it's really something you have to decide for yourself whether or not it's worth it. I don't know if I will ever start a family of my own personally, but I wouldn't let any cryptic warnings sway me one way or another. Life should be lived the way you want it, and... I feel you should always fight to live it that way.
