Four. Four birthdays in Luceti. Honestly none of them have ever been very exciting, but maybe it's better that way. Calling attention to age, especially now that she's 20, is a little of a scary thought. Instead she'll act like it's a normal day for most of it. Taking her dog for a walk in the late morning, spending time in the smithy, and even grocery shopping a bit. Eventually sometime in the afternoon, before dinner, she'll ask the village a question:]

A question for everyone: How do you feel about growing older here? Whether you already have or not. Is it scary to think about?
[Families? Relationships? Are they even a good idea? Despite the fact those are things she wants.]

I don't even know if I'm going to grow older. It'd be kind of nice to be able to here though.

Why wouldn't you grow older?

I'm dead back in my world and no one ages in the afterlife. I've still got some of the super-healing I had there too so it'd make sense if I didn't here right? I haven't been here long enough to tell though.

I wonder if that kind of thing would be too much to ask of the Malnosso. I mean, if you really wanted it.

I think I'd pass. I don't really want to do anything with them if I can help it.

Mm, yeah they aren't the most pleasant to deal with anyway.

Can I ask if you had any ideas of what your life would be like if you grew up?

I had a couple. I didn't actually make it to college, even though I got in. I wanted to go into either justice, teaching, or social services. All of those kind of had their drawbacks for my personality, of course, but you get three spots on those career plan sheets they make you fill out in high school. [ Not that it ended up mattering. ]

If you really want to continue your education I wonder if there would be suitable books in the library for that. Maybe you can complete things here you weren't able to back home?

It'd be one thing to master it if I had even the tiniest chance at a future, but it's stupid to study it when I'm just going to be dead when I get back and then stop existing after that. It'd be a waste of time.
