Four. Four birthdays in Luceti. Honestly none of them have ever been very exciting, but maybe it's better that way. Calling attention to age, especially now that she's 20, is a little of a scary thought. Instead she'll act like it's a normal day for most of it. Taking her dog for a walk in the late morning, spending time in the smithy, and even grocery shopping a bit. Eventually sometime in the afternoon, before dinner, she'll ask the village a question:]

A question for everyone: How do you feel about growing older here? Whether you already have or not. Is it scary to think about?
[Families? Relationships? Are they even a good idea? Despite the fact those are things she wants.]

Oh wow, really?

Yeah, but it's kind of complicated. I mean, I'm not really human, so I don't age the same way they do. That's why I still look the same as I did back then.

[Voice]

You're not?

No, I just look like one. I'm actually a kind of spirit.

[Voice]

[installing]

"Spirit"? Like a ghost?

[Voice]

More like the Filial spirits here, if that makes any sense. Most of the summon spirits in my world have one particular element they're associated with, but I'm special.

[Voice]

["Special." Of course, everyone here is special. And by special she means weird. Super weird.]

Special how?

[Voice]

I don't really have just one element that I'm in charge of. I don't even understand all of it myself, because, um... well, I don't have any of my memories of being a summon spirit. I only know about it because other people from my world have told me that it's true.

[Voice]

Well, you know? That kind of thing really doesn't matter unless you're thinking long term. You're still a person, right?

[The only problems she foresees is the whole non-aging bit.]

[Voice]

Right. I'm still me, and I want to be human. Maybe I can't be a real human, but that doesn't mean I can't live like one.

[Voice]

You know... I don't think it's about being "human." I think it's about being... "a good person." I've known a bunch of non-humans that were better people than some humans.

[Voice]

That's one of the things Luceti has helped me realize-- it doesn't matter what you are as long as you're a good person, like you said. And... Richter wasn't human, but that never mattered to me either. It wouldn't have changed anything.
