Four. Four birthdays in Luceti. Honestly none of them have ever been very exciting, but maybe it's better that way. Calling attention to age, especially now that she's 20, is a little of a scary thought. Instead she'll act like it's a normal day for most of it. Taking her dog for a walk in the late morning, spending time in the smithy, and even grocery shopping a bit. Eventually sometime in the afternoon, before dinner, she'll ask the village a question:]

A question for everyone: How do you feel about growing older here? Whether you already have or not. Is it scary to think about?
[Families? Relationships? Are they even a good idea? Despite the fact those are things she wants.]

[He's hoping that makes her believe in him a little more. In general, he tries not to break his promises to her.]

And suddenly there's an Edward at the door, bracing himself against the doorframe, already in his own pajamas- dark long sleeves and pants, of course. He's not about to wreck the experience by getting oil stains all over her and her clothes.

And he hadn't totally been stewing quietly in his room until the last second, building up enough nerve to show up. Nooooooo sir.]

...Uh. Hey.

Hey. [Immediately she scoots over to the far side of the bed, and pats the spot she just made free.]

Come on in.

[His gaze drifts to the spot she left him, swallowing the lump of uncertainty in his throat, and heads over, plopping down heavily and resting his hands on his knees. Okay, he made it. Awesome.]

I made it in time.

[She reaches out to shove him gently.]

[He rocks a bit, then leans back in to bump his shoulder against hers.]

Shut up, it's important for men to have goals ahead of them!

So what, should I start setting some relationship goals for you?

[She smiles, and gives him a look.]

[He huffs quietly, crossing his arms and lifting his gaze to the ceiling to try and pretend he isn't starting to blush.]

M-maybe that would help!

Then maybe I want a romantic dinner date by the end of February, or maybe I want to see all of you by the end of January. Or perhaps I want to give you a special automail upgrade by March.

[He's tempted to grab himself a piece of paper and write this down - he wasn't expecting a list!! - but has to stop and gawk at her.]

[Winry can't help but smile. She tries stifling her laughter, but it doesn't work. Soon enough the woman is doubled over laughing.]

[He's not sure if he's more mad at the laughing or more flustered by her prior words, but the two are definitely in conflict for his reactions right now.]

[And to think he was worried about the cuddling part of the evening when he should have been worried about the stupid things he manages to say while still being an alchemic genius.
